The Centre d’action bénévole L’Actuel is the volunteering reference in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region.

L’Actuel assists organizations, supports volunteers and accompanies future volunteers looking for a volunteer offer that matches their tastes. Not to mention that L’Actuel promotes volunteer action in the field, in the media as well as on social networks.

As a promoter of volunteer action, L’Actuel participates in various activities in the region to talk about volunteering and its benefits. Furthermore, the organization takes special pride in promoting National Volunteer Week, the Hommage bénévolat-Québec awards and National Volunteer Day.

National Volunteer Week

Volunteers are the collective strength of today and tomorrow, their involvement is vital to the well-being of the community. That is why their great dedication and the importance of their involvement must be emphasized, particularly in the context of National Volunteer Week.

Supported by the Fédération des centres d’action bénévole du Québec, National Volunteer Week is held in April. Each year, a theme and a visual are developed to recognize the contribution of volunteer action. The Centre d’action bénévole L’Actuel is one of the official distributors of promotional material. Organizations in Vaudreuil-Soulanges can contact it to order items.

Hommage bénévolat-Québec Awards

Hommage bénévolat-Québec awards are awarded by the Government of Québec to recognize the exceptional commitment and valuable contributions of volunteers and organizations from all regions of Québec. They are intended to reward the efforts of citizens in their communities and to promote the work of organizations to promote and foster volunteer involvement. About forty winners will be honoured throughout Québec.

Every year, the Centre d’action bénévole L’Actuel urges its partners, the media, municipalities, elected officials and organizations to promote them.

International Volunteer Day

On December 5, 1985, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly established International Volunteer Day to highlight the importance of volunteers’ contribution to the economic and social development of communities.

The resolution adopted by the United Nations urges governments and organizations to take the necessary measures to raise awareness of the important contribution of volunteering, encourages people from all trades or professions to volunteer and strives to promote activities that will raise awareness of the contribution volunteers make through their actions.

Through his mission and involvement in the community, the Centre d’action bénévole L’Actuel cannot ignore this most important day. On December 5, L’Actuel takes action to thank its volunteers as well as those of all municipalities, among others, through advertising and posters.
