Illness, loss of employment, separation, death or any other sudden event can lead to disruption of lifestyle and financial insecurity. L’Actuel offers a variety of services to support low-income people and those who are and experiencing hardships.
Food Assistance
Through this temporary and last resort assistance service, low-income individuals and those in need receive food and hygiene products.
Clothing Assistance
Thanks to its Thrift shop, L’Actuel able to provide clothing to users in need and people sent by L’Aiguillage and La Passerelle.

Infant Assistance
Low-income families, referred by the CISSS Integrated Perinatal and Early Childhood Services, can receive free diapers and formula for their babies to give them a good start in life and meet basic needs such as food.

Community kitchens allow participants to cook healthy and affordable dishes. This service ensures food security, improves health and quality of life, while breaking the isolation of people experiencing difficulties.

Tax Clinic
Accompanied by a team of experienced volunteers, supported by the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Québec, L’Actuel offers a tax clinic to citizens who meet the eligibility criteria.
Walk-in, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from March 3 to April 29, 2020
Eligibility criteria:
Income for 2019 must not exceed
• $26,000 for a single person
• $34,000 for a couple
• $28,000 for an adult with one child ($2000 for each additional child)
Interest income must be less than $1000
Prerequisites: Relevé 31 for renters, tax bill for homeowners

Located at 90 Adèle Street, the Thrift shop L’Actuel offers second-hand items, books, movies, games, decorative objects, footwear and clothing at affordable prices.
