L’Actuel offers a transportation service for medical appointments. The service is offered by volunteer drivers.<\/h2>\n

The service is provided to residents of Vaudreuil-Dorion, Pincourt, L\u2019\u00cele-Perrot, Notre-Dame-de-L\u2019\u00cele-Perrot, Terrasse-Vaudreuil, Pointe-des-Cascades, St-Lazare, Hudson, Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac, L\u2019\u00cele-Cadieux, Les C\u00e8dres.<\/span><\/p>\n

Clientele<\/strong><\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]-People with certain limitations;<\/p>\n

-People who cannot use public transportation;<\/p>\n

-People with a temporary or permanent loss of autonomy who live in their natural environment (home, house, public or private residence eligible for home support);[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]-Be 65 years of age or older;<\/p>\n

-Must be mobile and autonomous;<\/p>\n

-Must not have severe cognitive problems;<\/p>\n

-Must not be in a wheelchair;<\/p>\n

-People can use a walker (folding kind only).[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Type of transportation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Transportation is offered for medical and paramedical appointments: general practitioner or specialist, dentist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, etc.<\/p>\n

We cannot offer transportation to people undergoing cancer treatment, dialysis or physio treatments on a regular basis (more than 3 times a week).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Procedure<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The person must open a file by dialing 450 455-3331, ext. 0.<\/p>\n

-The person must call to request transportation between 5 to 10 days before the appointment.<\/p>\n

-L’Actuel tries to match the user with a volunteer.<\/p>\n

-If a volunteer is available, L’Actuel confirms the transportation with the user.<\/p>\n

-The volunteer calls the user the day before the transportation to schedule the time.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Cost<\/strong><\/h3>\n

-The user will be charged a travel fee to compensate for the cost of using the volunteer’s vehicle.<\/p>\n

-The cost of transportation must be paid at the time of transportation and in cash only.<\/p>\n

-The user is responsible for parking fees and tolls.<\/p>\n

-A $15 fee will be added to the basic fee for an appointment longer than 4 hours.<\/p>\n
